Donald J. Franceschini
Donald J. Franceschini retired as Vice Chairman and a Director of the Sara Lee Corporation in December of 1997. He was responsible for the $7.5 billion personal products line of businesses which included such brands as Hanes, Champion, Playtex, Bali, Leggs, Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren and a number of international brands marketed in 26 countries. Additionally, he oversaw the corporation's legal and human resources functions.
Prior to joining Sara Lee in 1991, Donald was President of Playtex Apparel and a partner in the leveraged buyout of that corporation. Sara Lee acquired Playtex Apparel in 1991, and Franceschini was named Chief Executive Officer of Playtex Apparel. Sara Lee Corporation is a global packaged food and consumer products company with annual sales of $20 billion.
Mr. Franceschini earned his BS in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and his MBA from Temple University in Philadelphia.
